Our Process

Content Customs prides itself on personal, streamlined and efficient service. We like to keep our content production process transparent in order to ensure we're meeting your goals at every step. The ultimate goal of our process is always to ensure that your expectations have been met and exceeded.

If you feel that any modifications to our process will be necessary to meet your requirements, please contact us. We will always be flexible in order to produce content that best matches your vision. The process described below specifically applies to our content writing services. However, a similar approach is taken for design and development work, as well as SEO and marketing projects.

1. Placing Your Order

The Content Customs process begins the moment you contact us. Orders can be placed by filling out a quote form or by contacting us through phone or live chat. Many of our clients aren't immediately aware of exactly what they want, and most have several questions even if they do. This is why we employ project managers - to provide personalized service and guide you through every step of the process.

Your personal project manager will respond to your request within the same business day to answer your questions and begin discussing the details of the project. This allows the project manager to gain an understanding the specific goals and vision you have for your content.

You will be given an accurate and reasonable timetable for the completion of your project, along with the option to set up milestone goals to be met as the work progresses. For instance, if you have a large order request, we can schedule the project to be delivered in segments at your discretion. Your project manager will then estimate a total cost for your project and ensure that we respect this budget as the project moves forward.

2. Beginning Your Project

Once the details are agreed upon, we'll get to work on creating the first page of your project. This sample page is written without any financial obligation on the part of the client. Although we do offer examples of our work on our website, most clients want to see a preview of the unique content we'll be creating specifically for them.

After you review this initial page, you might find that the page needs specific changes and even that the entire project requires additional guidelines. We'll listen carefully to your revision requests and ensure that the page meets your exact specifications before moving forward. Once we receive your unreserved approval for this initial page, we will request a 50% down payment based on the estimated total cost of the order. This down payment requirement only applies to new customers at Content Customs. For repeat customers, payment may be remitted in full only after the project has been 100% completed.

3. Writing Your Project

The project manager assigns your project to a writer or team of writers with experience and education relevant to your desired subject matter. All Content Customs writers are based in the U.S. and speak English as a primary language. They all have extensive experience writing many types of content, and most have degrees in relevant fields such as journalism, English, creative writing and education. All content is produced in-house and is 100% original and unique. We never outsource our work and we never pre-write, re-sell, or buy content.

With over 30 writers on our staff, you can be assured that your content will have the tone, voice and depth of knowledge that you're looking for. Our writers conduct extensive research before starting the writing process in order to create content that is authoritative and factually accurate. If the writers have any questions during the creation of the content, they will forward them to the project manager who will review them with you if needed.

4. Completing Your Project

After writing is completed, your project is thoroughly reviewed by our team of expert editors. They examine your content to ensure it's free of spelling and grammar errors, and that it adheres to your original guidelines. If specific SEO strategies were requested for the content, our editors will ensure that they were implemented correctly and effectively. The editors then pass the content to the project manager, who gives it a final check.

5. Delivery and Payment

The project manager will deliver your content to you within the timeframe originally agreed upon. Email is the default delivery format, but methods such as Skype and Dropbox can also be used if desired. The type of content you ordered will determine the file format in which it's delivered; while most content is delivered as .txt or .doc files, projects such as eBooks are typically delivered in .pdf format.

Content Customs offers unlimited revisions. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the content, we will revise it free of charge until you are satisfied. We want to ensure that you're completely happy with the resulting work and that the completed content matches the guidelines originally established for the project.

After you approve the completed work, you will be emailed an invoice for any remaining balance due. Content Customs accepts payment via major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover) as well as PayPal and bank debit. Following payment, you will gain all rights to the content. This means that your content will never be be sold to anyone else. You can do whatever you'd like with the content at this point - add your byline, publish it on your website, distribute it online or in print, or anything else you can imagine.
